Sync
If you encountered issues related to iCloud sync, please check the following instructions.
- If you've upgraded to Pro version on one of your devices, but on another device it says it's still Basic version (check the info under your nickname on the profile page), simply click "Restore Purchase" button at the bottom of the purchase page.
- Monolog doesn't require you to create an account. It uses your existing iCloud account for sync. Make sure you're logged in with the same iCloud account across all your devices.
- At Settings - Apple ID - iCloud, make sure you have enough storage space.
- At Settings - Apple ID - iCloud, iCloud Drive is turned on.
- At Settings - Apple ID - iCloud, Keychain is turned on.
- Network problems. If you're experiencing sync issues only using cellular data, make sure Cellular Data permissions are correctly setted for Monolog. Try to connect with a different WiFi, or turn off the VPN, etc.
Clicking the iCloud Sync Indicator (cloud-shaped icon on the navigation bar) will show a more detailed error message. Some of the more frequent errors are the following:
- The operation couldn’t be completed. (CKErrorDomain error 4.) Network related. See Point 6 above.
- Request failed with http status code 503. Something is wrong with Apple's iCloud Server. Usually it will recover in a moment.
- This operation has been rate limited due to an earlier error. As it indicates, the requests are rate limited by iCloud server probably due to frequent errors. Usually it will recover in a moment.
- This request requires an authenticated account. No iCloud account is currently logged in on your device.
- Account temporarily unavailable due to bad or missing auth token Need to log in again.
- CloudKit access was denied by user settings. Most likely iCloud Drive or Keychain is not turned on.
If all checks out but the problem persists, please contact me at [email protected] with your Monolog nickname for further diagnosis.
